Although all seemed promising at first, none have yet taken hold. Several key elements to any lasting peace--elements often referred to as "final status issues"--have so far been left off of every peace plan. At an 8 May 2003 Palestine Center briefing Jerome Segal of the University of Maryland, Milton Viorst, noted journalist and author and Ghalab Darabya, the political counselor for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Washington, sought to outline the final status issues, the treatment the Roadmap gives these issues and possible solutions.
